It seems that many of you would love to be able to create stunning woven willow sculptures like Emma’s – her masterclasses have gone from strength to strength this year, selling out again and again.
And for 2025, Emma is bringing them home, so you can enjoy learning how to make your own willow sculpture in the inspiring surroundings of her Whitby studio. The Whitby masterclasses will start in the spring and run through the year – see below for a full list of dates, and themes.
Emma also runs classes at distinguished locations including Raymond Blanc’s two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Oxfordshire, Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons and Highgrove House and Gardens, the private Gloucestershire residence of the private residence of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The gardens at both venues are home to sculptures by Emma.
If you’d like to book on a course, we advise speed – they do tend to sell out very quickly. The most imminent one, at Chatworth in December, sold out very quickly, but a new one – to make a delightful spring lamb – has just been announced for 30 March. And keep an eye on Emma’s website for details coming soon of a willow weaving workshop in the magnificent surroundings of Raymond Blanc Gardening School at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in 2025 – participants will be making a suitably Gallic cockerel.
And her 2025 Whitby classes are (all dates are Fridays and Saturdays):
- Hen: 7 & 8 March
- Hare: 4 & 5 April
- Goose: 6 & 7 June
- Hare: 1 & 2 August
